Overview
ICM Funding was founded in November of 2013 by a small group of experienced mortgage professionals with deep financial, correspondent, secondary, and risk management experience.
Our lending services cater to diverse borrower requirements, spanning acquisition/renovation, ground-up construction, opportunistic fast-close purchases, quick cash-out, and infill entitled land. We provide financing against robust commercial real estate assets, encompassing industrial, apartment complexes, triple-net single-credit retail properties, medical offices, self-storage facilities, small infill residential developments, and infill entitled land parcels.

Michael Castanon
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Castanon is a seasoned financial executive with over 30 years of experience spanning investment banking, mortgage-backed securities, retail lending, private equity, and mortgage banking. He began his career in mortgage-backed securities before transitioning into national mortgage lending, where he held senior leadership roles in retail lending and mortgage banking.
Throughout his career, Michael has served as President, CEO, and Senior Vice President across multiple organizations, leading strategic growth initiatives and building high-performing teams. He co-founded a private equity firm specializing in mortgage opportunities and has been instrumental in driving national production efforts at leading financial institutions.
With deep expertise in capital markets, mortgage operations, and business development, Michael is dedicated to fostering innovation and sustainable growth in the mortgage lending industry. His leadership continues to shape the future of lending by combining strategic vision with hands-on industry experience.
Sonni Sabahi
Chief Production Officer
With over 25 years of experience in mortgage banking, loan trading, and capital markets, Sonni has built a distinguished career in the financial services industry. As Chief Production Officer at ICM, he leads loan production strategies, leveraging his deep expertise in evaluating and trading whole loan portfolios. Prior to his tenure at ICM, Sonni served as Managing Director at Fasthold Capital, where he specialized in distressed asset trading, overseeing whole loan and real estate transactions.
His comprehensive knowledge of mortgage banking, from originations to secondary market trading, has allowed him to bridge the gap between production and capital markets effectively.
Throughout his career, Sonni has demonstrated a strategic and analytical approach to mortgage production, ensuring operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
